Montalcino is a beautiful town in the province of Siena, in the heart of Tuscany, surrounded by an enchanting and unspoiled natural landscape, reminiscent of times gone by.
A visit to Montalcino can be a truly inspiring experience, thanks to the magical union between man and nature. Long dedicated to working the woods and fields, life in Montalcino is marked by the progressive succession of tasks in the countryside.
The best image of Montalcino is undoubtedly linked to the most precious gift of its land, which is both harsh and generous: “wine.”
Pian delle Querci covers 50 hectares, 8.5 of which are planted with vineyards, 6 of which are Brunello D.O.C.G. with an annual production of 38,000 bottles, 2 hectares of Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C. with an annual production of 14,000 bottles, and 0.5 hectares of Santantimo with an annual production of 4,000 bottles. The vines are trained using the low spurred cordon method, 70 cm, obtained by short pruning, with 2 buds, of a variable number of shoots per vine, which allows for a low yield per hectare in accordance with the regulations.
For four generations, the Pinti family has preserved the art of winemaking, combining experience and passion for the land of Montalcino.
Slow fermentation in steel vats and aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, without the use of added yeasts.
Vineyards cultivated on clayey soils rich in skeleton, 250 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Montalcino hills.
Each bottle of Pian delle Querci tells the story of our land and our work: Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino wines produced from selected vineyards and vinification that respects the rhythms of nature.
Our guided tours begin right in the vineyards, just in front of the winery, where we recount the history of the area and the care we devote to each row of vines. After revealing the main stages of the process that leads to the creation of our wines, inside the winery, we continue with a tasting, designed to allow you to experience the true spirit of our products.
